The PSSDA Speech Club AWOL (and honorary members from our "Oregon Chapter)
The Origin of the Club Name:
The night before our first tournament, we were filing our extemp articles, and we had a few stuffed animals
to choose from for our mascot. We decided on Owl, from Winnie-the-Pooh (Pictures of him below). However,
Owl spelled his name "Wol" in one of the books, so we were "Wol" until Victoria thought of being "AWOL."
